I just got a Penn plax net breeder for my pregnant platy and wanted to know if this breeding net is any good

The people at the store said it was they're best breeder

Ok well my platy is within the 12 hour time period so I'm setting it up now I'll check back before I stick in water

Net breeder's are not really recommended tbh... they can stress your fish out and could cause her to miscarry... but it's your choice, i only use the breeder box to put fry in till they get to a decent size.

If you have a nice planted tank, just keep her in the main tank.. or if you have a spare cycled tank pop her in there.

What's the other tank mates? I wouldn't use any breeder box/net. A small set-up would be perfect for this.

Well I put her in the breeder about 18 hours ago but no fry came but I now know she isn't ready yet maybe in 2 days she will be so I took her out and she is now swimming around slowly and sortof hiding

She will be extremely stressed after being in there. I wouldn't put her back in the net. What's the other tank mates? Is your tank planted? Any hiding places? Fry could still survive if the tank is set up properly for them.

Well if fry don't come long enough I'm getting a complete 5-10 gallon from my friend tomorrow to move her into I have 7 other platys 5 female 2 male and a male swordtail I also have 3 cardinal tetras a bristlenose pleco a common pleco and a clown loach

The tank has 3 hiding caves 2 medium 1 small and 3 large plants 2 medium and 2 small plants all around the tank the 2 medium and 1 small are arranged together though

What size is the tank you have these fish in? Is the new tanks filter cycled?

They're in a 29 I'm in process of getting a larger tank for the clown and common pleco but they're good for now as they are both juveniles

They new tank is cycled

29 litre or 29 gallon? I didn't see you had a clown loach. They really need to be in groups of 6 minimum.

Gallon and once I get the 75 gallon next month I'm getting 5 more

If it was 29 liters it would be way overstocked

75G would still be over-stocked with six clowns and a common plec.

No the pleco isn't going in there when he gets over 12 inches I'm going to trade him in for other fish right now he is 2 inches

Same with the clown
