Hi! Just started a 30 litres aquarium with 5 neontetror. Im gonna have Only them. I have a plant, and gonna buy a filter.
I bought them ordinary tropish fish food.
Im gonna Change water once a week of Course.
But i wonder in the long term how do i keep my fishes healthy ? How can i see that they are healthy? How should they behave?

Erm, Neon Tetra or Neon Terror AKA green Terror cichild ?

I suspect OP means Neon Tetras.

Neons will feel happier in groups of 10+, for which 30ltrs is a bit small. 5 really isn't enough.

Give them plenty of places to hide - lots of live plants, as you'll be doing a fish in tank cycle if you've just got the fish and tank. You'll need a test kit, such as the API Master liquid test kit (look on eBay).

In the short term, while the tank cycles, you'll need to do daily water changes to keep toxins such as ammonia and nitrite to a minimum, about 50% will be required, especially if/when ammonia or nitrite reach 1ppm.

Flakes are fine as a staple, but you''ll need to supplement them with live or frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp, daphnia, white worms, cooked, deshelled peas, etc.

Long term, ideally you'll want a slightly bigger tank and more of them. 40-45ltrs would be good for a small group of 8 or 9. Weekly water changes of about 50-75% will help keep the fish healthy.

Pick up some floating plants like hornwort, moneywort, water sprite and anacharis, they will absorb the ammonia at a higher rate and provide your neon tetra with shade. Neon tetra are shoaling fish that need to be in groups of 6 or more-the more the better. They come from South American jungle streams so bright lights and lack of cover/shade can stress them.

I know my aquarium is small, but i cant have bigger in my living space.
I bought neons cause they are Good beginnerfish. I read that you can have 6 of them minimum. Which is almost What i have. They look really healthy and i gonna buy some more plant or hiding place.
And i also heard pump is more important then plants for the tank oxygen.

Here is a picture of my tetra tank. I have floating plants like anacharis for shade and also plants like Java ferns attached to the tree stumps.

Plants do add oxygen, and take in ammonia produced by the fish, but it's best to have a fully cycled filter - even if it's just as back-up.

"Almost" equals "Not quite". Shoaling fish know full well when there isn't enough of them and this shows in their behaviour. These fish live in groups numbered in the hundreds or thousands in the wild - not single digits. 6 is the bottom line.

In this moment my neons are playing in the stream from the pump.
Im sure that plants add oxygen but so does the pump.
I have a combined filter and pump that runs quietly.
I did first water Change yesterday and cleaned the ground. I noticed it was a lot of food that came up.

If there is left over food on the bottom of the tank, cut back the amount you feed. Fish need less food than you'd think. A lot of our food goes to maintaining our body temperature. Fish don't do that, the water they are in maintains their body temperature.
