Generally speaking yes they will only stay with their own kind, however shoaling is a defensive behavior in tetras and if your tetras are happy then you aren't likely to see them shoaling tightly together a lot. There are numerous types of neons, for example there are green neon tetras, black neons, blue neons etc, but these fish are not the same as each other and you should really get enough of each different type so if they want to shoal they can do it properly, generally speaking you need 5-8+ tetras of the same type for them to be happy, but it also depends on the size of the tank you have as well etc (for example, 5-6 neons would be fine in a 10-15gallon tank, but in a 100gallon tank they would feel dwarfed with all the space so at least 8-10 would be much better etc).

I'v got Marble Hatchet Fish in my tank. They are brilliant fish. If you put a bit of a flow from your filter in the tank they love it, heres mine:

Hope this helps.
Thanks for the video it was cool looks like the fish are having a great time are they school fish and are they ok in a communty tank how many should I get. Thanks Pat

They are schooling fish. You would have no problems putting them in a community tank as they are non-aggressive. I've got 5 in my tank. 5-6 would be fine.
