Neons In A Higher Flow Tank...

Hi all,

Well, basically I broke my first nano down and moved everything into the new larger tank, however, the plan was/is also to break down my second nano too, and ship its contents (well, at least the fish, snails and plants) into the larger aquarium.

Currently the 106L aquarium is at 20-22'C and has my 4 white clouds, a pitbull plec and a large number of ramshorns, the tank is set-up to emulate a riverine habitat (albeit with artisctic license in the form of hollow skulls instead of stones ;P).

Now, the neons are at the same temp, and currently live in a 15L nano (planted like crazy, also the water is tanin rich), thank goodness its heavily planted, because when the electricians cut the power a while ago (for a few DAYS!?) I think it killed the mini external filter (or at least its only 'just' limping along).

Anyway, enough rambling, will these neons be OK in a tank with high flow (a powerhead is going in shortly)...

I have black neon tetras (different fish I know) in a tank with fairly strong flow (not a nano but a 4ft tank) and most of the time the tetras like being in the strongest part of the current. The current is really good a feeding time as it throws the food all around the place quickly and the tetras have a field day dashing up and eating the food as if it is live prey. If possible I would try to make a sheltered area so the tetras can get out of the flow if they choose too and just watch to see their preferance.
