neon specialist required

hi there folks its me once again lol
I am wondering how you know if or when a neon is gonna lay eggs i have a couple of them that are a good bit fatter than the others, also can someone please tell me how long neons live for.

I'm certainly no expert but here is a link with a little info. It does say that they live up to 10 years.
