Neon puffer

I have never heard of those, could you post the website where you found that? It looks a lot like the Red tailed red eye puffer (Carinotetraodon irrubesco), except altered

I'd have to agree with Frank. Looks like a variant of Carinotetraodon irrubesco. If so they grow to about 2 3/4 inches live in FW. As with most other puffers, species only tank is recomended due to aggression towards other fish. Are reported to be more tolerant of their own, so can be kept in groups with minimum of trouble.

i dont think it is, the one i saw looked alot like it but i think it was bigger than 3 inches
i'll go check it out they claimed they had 2 but hell if i could find it, i just grazed over that tank but if its still there i'll go ask them i doubt they know anything though
most of them dont at this store its awful

if it does stay that small and there are two of them i think i might grab them instead of dwarfs (of which they dont know when they will have those)
depending on their adult size as well, i plan on using a 20 g for my puffs so i'll have to check all that out!

Cool, it looks like its a FW puffer to me. I am sure you can keep it in a wide range of water conditions. Puffes will acclimitize well to soft water, hard water, high ph, low ph, etc. As long as the tank is cycled it should be fine.

It looks kind of like a puffer I had about , well a few years ago . I can't remember the name it was sold as but the scientific name is Carinotetraodon Somphongsi . Mine changed color at times by getting darker from a yellow , orange, reddish brown color with a white belly , and red eyes. a little like the photo above . The body shape and eye color are very similar . My fish lived in freshwater not brackish . [Axelrods mini atlas]
