I'm considering losing my danios, due to them being weak and suseptable to diseases, and wanted a similar replacement, anybody know if neon dwarf rainbow fish (praecox rainbows) are known for agression or fin nipping, I want something thta my male betta will get along with as well as he does my danios.
Failing this any other suggestions (non livebearers) for danio replacement, these can be shoaling fish happy in groups of about 6, or fish that are happy in 2's or 3's.

Thanks!

nobody any idea then??
trial and error I suppose, and will keep people posted as and when i do!

Hmmm i dont personally know anything about rainbow fish, though I've had great success with keeping male bettas with platies, swordtails, neon tetras, and mollies. But I'd be interested to see how it goes for you so keep us posted.

I haven't had quite so much luck with neons....mine are going back to lfs after they took to fin nipping my betta....boooo!
Gonna get some harlequin rasboras in their place....from the sounds of it the dwarf neon rainbows are very similar in temperment, activity...etc to danios so I am optimistic!
