Neon Dwarf fry

I think some of the fry are changing their minds on what gender they are

Since posting this ( can fish read ) , some have lost the stripes down the flanks and a blue spot at the start of the back fin, and the anal fins are starting to loose the red colour

any ideas any one?

Were both parents neon blues? You may find your fish are carrying some kind of other color morph in their genes that is showing up in the fry.
Or you could end up with some females (that would be nice wouldn't it?)...

KentBlokey - is the 'female' in the back realy blue? If it is, it's a male. Females are silvery colored (kind of like the fry in the pic) or kind of pale beige. If you had a close up pic of him/her (from the side) it would be easier to tell by looking at the fins.

'She' may be Male then.

I couldn't get an excellent close up. And as you can see, It doesn't show the true colouring as light conditions weren't great and with the flash...you can guess.

It's a he Very weird color in that pic but the dorsal and anal are much too long and pointed to be a female.

Does he look like the fish in the 5th pic down? If yes, you deffinately have a male. Otherwise, well I still think it's a he .

The point on that dorsal means male, thats sharp, and I would agree with sylvia, she knows her gourami!
