Anybody kept any of these babies and have any info other than the basics found on the web?

I've not personally seen them and the system at work doesn't throw them up, so not sure what the availability is like, but I have to get some.
Would they be ok in the Tang community and what's their aggression levels like?

Any info greatly appreciated, thanks.

Oh, if you have some.. sell them to me!

Can be very Territorial, bordering on aggressive, so IMO unless you do a species tank you are best keeping just the one specimen, Wouldn't personally keep them in anything less than around 240L for this reason,

Dobbies sell them at just under £11

Nice price, but not sure I could afford to set up another just for these. They are gorgeous though. Hmm, I think I need to convince the missus that we need to move... so I can build a fish room :hey:
The more I read about them, they sound like one of the most aggressive going. Lotta spunk for fairly small fish.

Check my signature....I have one of the fish you mentioned. As with any cichlid they will become very aggressive at breeding time. Having just the one it seems very contented and offers no threat to any other of my fish. In fact it spends most of it's time hanging out with the Frontosas

Hi mate, I have 2 of the little blighters! I have a fairly big tank but I don't have any problems with them. One has grown to about 4", the other 3". They chase each other around a bit but nothing serious. I have them in with trophs, leleupi, cyp. leptos, goby cichlids, blue dolphins, neo. brichardi and juli ornatus. They are nice looking fish, I bought mine mis-labelled as sexfasciata as they look similar. I wouldn't bother with a new set up as long as you have space in the tank for them. I have heard they can be evil when breeding though!

Sounds a bit more promising.

This is why I prefer to ask, so that I can get peoples personal experiences rather than just what it says on the net. So, it could be worth the risk with a single one and see how it goes.

Thanks :good:
