) the 2 fish I have that suffered then survived this outbreak both have a small indentation around the anus where the tissue had been destroyed then healed over and when my old male betta died all the tissue around his anus was festering. Also cheers for the heads up about pulling the blighters out of the fish, I must admit I was feeling tempted.

Can you suggest where I might get the treatments you listed. I've done a quick search but it just keeps coming up with agricultural suppliers for sheep and what-nots so dosage would be a nightmare. BUt if you could point me in the direction of an aquarists supplier that would be great. I think I'll be worth phoning my local vet on Monday to see if he can provide me with some Levamisole as suggested in those American links but I don't hold out much hope.Treatment:
