when you say soon, how quickly do these guys grow?is it like oscars around 1inch per month or are they slower,,,are they the small spots?
will try to get some pics of the spotted dollar over the next few days :good:

Can't tell yet wether they are small or large spot, large spot are rarer but there are 2 breeders of both in the south east, so could be either. I'd say they are only abit slower than the growth of an oscar
This is a photo of a small spot i found on web, both are amazing looking, the male small spot grow to about 10" and large spot 12" with female growing to about 8". The males are noticeably larger from a young age and have longer fin extensions

i would have some but i dont have the tanks!!!!

but will want to keep them sometime

they are beautiful,,,,only in the tank half a day and were out of hiding, now everytime you walk in the room they act just like the oscars rushing up to greet you<ha more like hungry gits
will keep this post updated with the growth progress :good:

not sure yet on aggrestion but i understand there on parr with oscars<so not evil

heres the good bit,,,,drum roll please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i paid 10pounds for two,,, :hey:

Very aggresive to own kind, but mellow loads as they mature. Mine have been with smaller malawi and peacocks and got on great and Frontosa are also a good tankmate, and now mine are with other madagascans and dollars and are genrally gentle giants except when breeding. But the male did nearly swallow my young pike, think his long body shape made him easy to swallow but then he's never bothered the headstander with a similar body shape. They have teeth and when i clean the tank they think my hand is food and have ago, doesn't hurt but makes me jump. They attack by charging at fish fast and hard but don't bite them, so don't wound them just harrass and shock them.
I have a piece of drainpipe that the female hides in on the odd occasion the the male bullys her.
Good price you paid nelly, worth every penny, keep my fingers crossed for you that you have a pair, that would be awsome.
