One of my needlenose broke his bottom jaw, about half of the bottom jaw is gone. I'm not quite sure what I should do to prevent infection, melafix or salt bath maybe? Also, does anyone know if the jaw will correct itself or grow back?

Thanks.

If it looks like his suffering I would end his misery sorry.
Yes broken bones can get infection in them.
Can he eat.

so far his behaviour is still normal and there are no signs of fungus or infection on the broken section of his beak, but he's having a difficult time catching his food (guppies & minnows) as 1cm of his bottom beak is missing. i hope it doesn't offend anyone but yeah... i've had to "stun" his food for him, i guess its cruel to the feeders but thats the only way he can catch his food currently and i can't think of live food that moves slow enough for him to catch.

Not wise to feed fish feeder fish they carry deseases.
I would post in the right part of the forum as I know nothing about these fish.
He dosn't sound good.
Good luck.

i don't normally use feeder fish, i mostly use crickets and worms for my other fish but these are needlenoses' and its nearly impossible to wean the off of feeder fish.

Ok.
See how he goes, but it dosn't sound to promising i'm afraid.
Good luck.
