I have a betta thats constipated and I've already warmed the pea up so its nice and squishy and broke it up into betta size food. So I need to know if I need to let the pea soak in some tank water before I give it to the fish.

Nope, you should be able to just give him the smooshy pea pieces.
*Smooshy Pea Pieces* *Sounds funny*

Thanks. But how will I get him to eat it since it sinks to the bottom?

You can try and squash it in your fingers and then put it in front of his face.

It works best if you have some way to isolate him. I use a breeder box which sticks to the inside of the tank with suction cups. If he's anything like my bettas, he will get it before it ever gets to the bottom. Just make sure you drop it right infront of him. Make sure you take the hull off and just feed the inside "meat' of the pea. They can't digest the hull/shell and eating that will ony complicate the problem.

Right now he is alone in a 2.5 minibow tank will I still have to islolate him? Because most of the time he is on the bottom.

I have seperated him and put the pea in front of him but he won't eat it since it doesn't sit at top? What can I do? :byebye:

You could try two drops of cod liver oil in his mouth, but don't feed for two days, wet a cloth in tank water and wrap him in the cloth to adminstrate the cod liver oil.

Right now he is is a seperate container with 3 betta size peas sitting at the bottom with him. Do you think he will eat it after he relaxes? And he has been breathing rapidly to. And is this cod liver oil safe or is their a risk of him dying?

If he heavy breathing he's not in good shape, the cod liver oil is for the fish who won't eat, nothing to lose, no harm to it.

Super market or pharmacy.
