Please suggest what else would be good in a small (44L / approx 10gallon) tank.

At the moment I have 2 inherited golden panchaxes. They are about a year old and were never aggressive towards the previous inhabitants. They are each less than 2 inches. Various websites have them as aggressive/peaceful; monstrous carnivores/good community fish; approx 2 inches/more than 9cm. So goodness knows what to expect!

But anyway, once I have recovered the neglected tank (slow but sure progress) and assuming the panchaxes are still alive and well...... what else would you recommend?

Hi
Ive never kept these but always thought that the general rule with them was that they should be kept with bigger fish as they get more predatory as they get older.I dont really know much about them but suggest that if you dont get any more replies then try posting in the oddballs section where someone who has these may be able to help. :)

Just the info you need to put you on track. I have some chocolate Aphyosemion australe (you have the gold version) and mine do very well in a community tank

Which "golden panchax" do you have?

Pachypanchax playfairii

Aphyosemion australe

Aplocheilus lineatus

Oryzias latipes

Have all been given this applelation.
