Need Some Mid - To - Top Fish!

Hi Everyone! I know you all hate this question as it is of course up to personal choice! But, I seem to be having a hard time finding any top dwellers! Im pretty stocked up on the bottom, but just can't seem to find anything for the middle and top! They have to be a bit bigger as my pictus enjoy small fish as a treat! I do have 4 rainbowfish, but that is it for my top and middle area!!! Anyone have any ideas?!?!?
BTW it is a 55g 48 x 12 x 12. Any ideas/advice greatly appreciated!!

Hatchetfish for the top and swordtails or platies for mid-to-top. Definately no neons or danios with that pictus catfish... of course, you already knew that. Good luck with your tank.

moustached danio, giant danio or malabar danio
elegant rasbora or Gangetic scissortail rasbora
filament barb or stripped barb
any barilius species

Harlequins hang out mostly at the top as well.

I have 10 and there some sight when there all in a group

hatchets, really any kind. a school od about 10 or 12 hatchets is a wonderful site.

Thanks guys! Ive heard hatchet fish are a bit hard to keep - any truth in this? I will do some research on the Archer fish and African butterfly! Thanks for the hints. Going to the LFS this weekend so I will keep you updated.
