I have a 40g tank stocked with 1 rummy nose tetra (2 have died), 1 pleco, 3 platys, 1 molly, 5 rasboras, 1 rainbow shark (not full grown). My last readings were Ammo 0, NitrIte 0, pH 7.6, nitrAte 40. I have done 2 water changes with gravel vac since the last reading. That was 4 days ago. Tank has been extablished for 10 months.

I have ich. I used QuIck Cure to treat it, 3 treatments. I have been gone for 2 days so I did 2 treatments before I left (according to instructions), did another tonight. I did a 6g gravel vac before I added the dose today.

All of a sudden my tetra was acint weird. Swimming around really weird. So I took out 6g, added 6g of good water and put the filter back in. So today I have taken out a total of 12g of water. So my tetra is doing a little better. swimming around, the color has not come back into ints nose totally. The water flow is kind of pushing the tetra around. Also, I think my rainbow shark has been effected a little. It is swimming around a little slower than usual.

My question is what do I do? Did I do what I was suppose to do??? I do have a 10g in another room well established, readings are great. I could move those two fish in there to see what happens. My concern is stressing them out from the move. So do I leave them, move them? Any suggestions would be great.

When you say "put the filter back in" when did you take the filter out and how long was it out for? I would check your water stats again to make sure that it is all still ok. Other than that I'm not sure what more to suggest. I definitely wouldn't move the fish to another established tank as if they still have ich you are going to transfer that to it as well.

Rummy nose tetras can be very sensitive as well so if it has had whitespot it may just be to much for it (they also do much better in much larger groups, personally I would recommend at least 10).

If you completely removed the filter while adding your medications, you have an ammonia buildup. That will be making your fish quite sick and unless it drops quickly you need to do a large water change. What do you have for ammonia readings? The ich will harm your fish and gradually weaken and kill them, the ammonia can kill them off over night. First priority is to deal with the fish being harmed by bad water, second priority is ich.
