i got another tank setup and im waititng for it to be matured and the fry to be a bit bigger.

so i can put them in with the mother.

all the fry's are now in the breeding net inside my tank.

and im waiting for them to be a bit bigger so i can transfer them.

is my first time i had baby fry, and i dont really know a lot about them.

so im asking please. can someone explain me a bit more about them

also please tell me how long do they have to be in the breeding net until i can transfer them.

how many times do they have to be feed. a day.

thats all and a little bit information if you guys can tell me a bit more about them.

------

hehe before you ask i know i have 1 female and 5 males but only 1 is mating with her and the rest arent really interested, so i know it isnt dangerous in there for her to be chased all the time :):):):):)

but thats all thanks a lot.

Also here are some pictures of them :)))

hi welcome to the forum i feed my fry cruched flake about 5-6 times a day they will grow pritty fast so in about 3-4 weeks u can put them in the other tank wich will give it time to cycle keep your water clean cos fry are prone to infection they dont have amune system untill a feww weeks old so regula water changes are good

good luck with the fry :good:

;) aww thanks a lot is it any chance that i can put them in in the 1st or 2nd week

and also when i put flake food they never really eat it. :(

as long as there is abit of crushed flake on the bottom of the net they dont eat allot in the first few days they will pick at it so dont wory about that

the angel has plenty room to move so i dont really think theres a problem on that.

but thanks :p

Hi, if you wish to become a regular user of this forum I would strongly suggest that your response (which you may think is a laugh) to a fellow member who sounds more experienced than yourself is likely to offend :sly:

That tank is unsuitable for an Angel!

Also it is very unfair to the single female guppy to be kept with 5 males but I guess you'll reply with something like 'she's having a ball' :p

i dont think i offended any 1, and becuz it says he is the leader of the fishes or he has 1000 posts dosent make a difference i only asked a question and its not a laugh is a smiley face which meant to be as a thank you.

i asked the aquarium shop if the tank would fit the angel fish and he said yes. so i will listen to them and not you.

secondly it isnt unfair to keep a female with 5 males.

its in theyre nature to breed and if u read on top i clearly stated that i will move her to the other tank.

thanks and next time please be a bit nicer.

one thing you will learn is that aquarium shops will say anything to get you to buy the fish, even a furture 3 foot fish for a tank your size you think thats acceptable. everyone on here is only trying to help you, there post title means nothing however there are laods of very experienced keepers on here all with there own speciallised areas, i know most about livebearers especially guppies as i had kept and bred them for 10 years, and i am telling you that there is no way that female is ahppy in there, she may seem healthy now but how long have you had them? once she is ready to give birth she'll have them all aftere her and the stress will kill her and with the angel fish in there too, they are not a good mix. as for the angel fish being ok in that size tank, it is the same as a human living there life in a closet, so to speak. what size is the tank out of interest?
please take in the advice i have given in the end i'm only trying to help you do the best for your fish

A well known quote on the forum from a respected member (can't remember who off the top of my head) once stated;

"A fish shop wishes to make every sale possible, as they make money out of each one. We on the other had are here, giving our services free of charge because we care. Please listen to us not them"

And I fully agree with them. Please take a moment to think about this quote, and re-consider your comments about who you prefur to take advise from. Right, down the the information you requested.

It is fine to transfur them strait away, to a tank with an air-driven box filter containing some mature media.

how many times do they have to be feed. a day.

Four to five times a day is considered best, with 50% dayly water changes untill they reach 1/3 of their adult sixe. Then, untill 2/3 of their adult size, feed three times dayly, with 50% weekly waterchanges. After 2/3 adult size, treat like the adults

On the contrary, as stated above, after dropping fry and comming back into heat, with that many males to the one mother, she is likely to be literaly bread to death.

Now for the advise you diden't ask for, but that I think to be relavant;

with 5 male guppies

1 female guppi (just had some babies :) )

covered already

1 red tailed shark

Can grow to 6-8 inches, and may be aggressive when older. Have been known to eat small fish (under 3 inch)

1 angel fish.

as stated above, this will out-grow the tank. they get to 10 inches tall and about 8 long. You tank looks like a 12X10X18 to me, baced on the relative size of your breeding trap. The angel will strugle to turn when full grown, and again has a reputation for eating smaller fish. Still sound like the tank is spacious enough for it full grown?

sorry to be the barer of bad news

Oh dear

I have made a note of your name and don't worry about me being nicer next time as there wont be one :hey:

You obviously know it all already so I will leave you in the hands of the LFS ("aquarium shop")
