I have a 45 gallon with 6 tiger barbs and 6 gold barbs and 1 female krib (the male krib moved into community tank becasue female would not let him swim around tank, and chase him away at feeding time, he has colored up nicely and much happier in a short period).
Now I was wondering with the fish I have in my 45 can I get some type of gourami that would not be harrassed or not harrass any of the fish.
Maybe suggestions of another fish that could go in with these fish is appreciated.

need to know, if i can get a gourami i am going tomorrow to buy it. So please someone. If not a gourami, any other suggestions

Most gouramis are mainly agressive amongst themselves, and not towards other fish in the sense that they want to establish territories. Once they have these, they are pretty peaceful again. There is a large variety of gouramis around, the easiest to keep are the pearls, honeys and thicklipped. If you keep these, then either, just a single one or as a trio (1 male, 2 females). For the honeys and thicklipped, you should count on at least 5 gallons/fish, and for the pearls, or other bigger gouramis at least 10.

Thank you. I will have to check which ones my nearest petstore carries. They would have got their shipment in today, so by tomorrow they would have settle down.

Watch that your tiger barbs don't start nipping at the gourami's feelers. Or if you end up with a gourami with nice long fins (e.g. a male pearl gourami) then watch out for that too, the barbs might be tempted!
