Fish Crazy
Hi.Got my pond up and running now.Fish seem ok.....Plants seem ok.
The one problem i have is the pump.
I bought a "bermuda" pressurised filter with "u.v." and the store threw in an "Atom" pump free of charge.
Well,to be honest,it does a pretty good job of powering my waterfall and fountain apart from the weed that keeps accumulating around the body of the pump(where the water gets sucked in)
Ive got the pump sat on a concrete block about 4 inches off the bottom of the pond,but i find myself having to sort of "hook" the pump and drag it out to the side of the pond to clean it (almost daily)
I thought i read somewhere that you can get certain pumps that will allow weed to pass through the pump where the "impeller" then chops it up before its sent to the filter at the side of the pond.
Ive also heard of something that you sit just under the surface of the pond water(preferably at the side of the pond) and this device pumps clean water to the pump.
Would be gratefull for any advice please.thanks
*edit*....have just seen a "Nautilus 8000" pond pump for sale....brand new cost £325.......asking £125.
Would this be ok?.....or is it just a "fountain pump"?
