So the pet store told me Zthe Gish I was buying was blue electric johannis they gave ne three two males in a female its been a few months with them in my tank with others the two females have now barricaded them selves and are hiding I herd the females where a different colour mine are all the same one is in a septette tank now an it cleared all the rocks from under it's house till it was glass an cover the holes going in or out could they be pregnet or is something wrong?

Sounds to me like they are nest-building. My convicts do the same...they move the gravel or sand until you can see the glass bottom of the tank. The sand/gravel is piled up around the nest (I guess it adds to the protection of the eggs/fry from other fish) with a barricade around them.

What are the exact colours of your Johannii?

There blue an black I read something about them be mouthbrooders an wasn't sure if the baby's were in the mouth I moved the one into her own tank it won't eat an if it dose it's one flake the other is in my other tank it's now hiding an building a nest doing the same thing

Hmmm... well if they are Johannii then with that colouration it would make them all male as the females are orangey/yellow. So, perhaps they are not Johannii...

Have a google about Mainganos - they look like Johannii but are a bit slender in body - and the thing with these is that the male and females are both the same colour (blue stripes on a black background). Easily confused with Johannii.

And, yes, they are mouth brooders, as you mentioned.

Ok so looking at the pictures one fish looks like a johanni an the other are Mainganos the one in the other tank I got out of her house she is really small now if she dose have baby's in her mouth how long are they in there for I read two weeks but it's been just over that
