can any one help

i just bought 4 new fish for my tank 2 blue acaras and 2 livingstoniis all was fine but after a while i noticed my acaras sort of fighting or something but its been going on for an hour or more and the seem to lock jaws most of the time, it sort of looks like they are kissing or somthing can anyone tell me what they are doing are doing? :/

sound like there trying to sort out who's top dog.? as long as they don't look hurt it should be fine i would have thought

They are liplocking, its just something cichlids do. Either testing who is stronger, for dominance or before they mate. However I think it will be fighting in your case.

k thanks guys lol its funny there still doing it, its been 4 hours since i put them in.

i want to see how long they will last maby over night.

It takes a while for them to figure out why is going to be the dominant cichlid. As long as there is not chancing, biting, allowing the cichlids to eat, no pinning in the corner it will be fine. Someone will be the dominant one but once they decide they should calm down.

i think thay have stopped or they r just tired lol (they have been fighting for 3 or 4 hours)
