Ok, i want to start by saying that you might not understand what i'm going on about as im not too sure myself whats going on.
Hubby wont even help so i'm asking you guys for some help.
I play Age Of Empires a lot on the computer as its my favourite game, but now i cant.
It was installed onto the D drive which was for games only. The problem i have been having is that every now and again when i go to play the game i get a box that tells me to put the correct cd in and restart. Problem is, the cd is in and it just doesnt seem to read it.
I go to my computer and if its working then in the removable disk bit i can see it as being in drive g or something similar, but if its not working then theres nothing there. Sometimes its conflicted with the printer and i have had to turn it off to get the game to play but for the past two days i cant get it to play at all and its really frustrating.
I know its hard to explain but im hoping someone out there can tell me what has gone wrong with it and if theres any way i can fix it.

Ive had some help with remote assistance and it seems that the part of hard drive that the game plays on isnt being picked up by windows, so the likelihood is a cable has come loose or the fan has cut it or the actual drive is kaput.

Go to my computer, right click D:, select properties, click the tools tab, click Check Now... under error checking. That should tell you if there are disk errors. If there are bad sectors, I would recommend replacing the hard disk. I use Western Digital drives, and I've never had even one of them go bad. If you wind up doing that, go to newegg.com, best buy will rip you off.

It could also be a software problem. Try system restore. I think it's enabled by default, so unless you've turned it off it should work. Got to start->run, type restore, hit enter, double click rstrui.exe, and restore your computer to the last time it was working.
