Need Help Identifying An Internal Parasite

There are red worm-like parasites hanging out of my fishes vents and I am wondering what they are and how to get rid of them? Many of my fish are showing this, and I an starting to get worried. I do apologize, but i dont have a picture at this time, the digital camera won't focus on anything that small. They are maybe 1/4 inch long at the most and are very thin, maybe a half a mm. They vary in color from red to clear to brown. Thats about all i can give you.

In the uk you need a vet for those type of worms levamisole over here is very hard to get hold of.

I cannot find the medication for it anywhere, even the vets won't give it to me..........

My LFS Told me to try Metronidazole and Copper Sulfate

You could give it a try but I doubt it will work the metronidazole.
