Right, Long long day today I got a 4ft tank for a good price on e-bay and went to pick it up this afternoon, However wasnt to the best standard, Tank is sound enough which is all I wanted to house Fry..??
Anyway the lad giving it away had various fish some Cichlids and Plecs, I knew they were part of the deal however agreed more or less via e-mail last night that I didnt want to rehome them as I am not familiar with them and they seemed too big ?? He was gonna get rid of them I know in a less than conventional way possibly local pond ?? and were all placed in a bucket when I arrived ????
So here they are and I have no idea what they are any further to the above if someone could advise I would very muich appreciate it, they all look under the weather but have perked up tremendously having gone and got an external filter (more ££'s) and good water from exisiting tanks, Stats have been checked and are fine, (monitoring v closley)
All I want to do is give these fish a chance before rehoming them to LFS who would take them off me now, but I want to nurture them back into fine health first ...
Thanks
Becks.

and a couple more

BLOODY HELL BECCA!!!
wow you have got your work cut out, they are beautiful though, plecs and the cichlids ( i think they are)

good luck with them :)
shelagh xxxxxxxxxxx

you have got your work cut out

Not wrong there - you'll probably find it easier to sell ice to the eskimos than rehome the gibbi I'm afraid.
There was a guy in the Buy, Sell & Swap section advertising a good home to a large plec but I think he was London based.
Good luck! Agree with Sheleagh though - great fish

Thanks, I have looked through that myself and cant seem to place it , I dont think that it is that one as it is more or a dark purple , deff not blue, have just gone got a book so trawling through the photos as well now LMAO
Thanks for your help, Soooo much appreciated
Beccks.

Well if nobody else will take such a large plec, is there a zoo near you with a freshwater aquarium? Bristol zoo said they'd take one off me a couple of years back, just a thought

Thanks Million, Good suggestion there is a Living world type place near to leeds you never know otherwise will be pet shop !!

In the meantime done a bit of reading and think that (I KNOW nothing I know but just trying to guess!!) The fish at the top at the right had side, could it be a Kenyi "Maylandia Lombardoi" I have been watching it this morning and I think may be a he is quite yellowy/orange, however he is chasing round a smaller one similar looking but is much more purple, they have been swimming round in circles all morning and kissing??? I hope to god that doesnt mean what I think it does as that means yest another tank in a few weeks, when THIS tank was supposed to be a fry tank in the first place ??

Thanks
Frustrated Becks..

I will try and get some more photos if there is anyone out there who may be able to identify the cichlids??

Hi,

Are all of the photos of each fish or did you take some pics of one fish twice because 2 look similar.

i firstly know that i blue coloured fish is a Pseudotropheus socolofi "Powder Blue Cichlid"

i need to see more pictures but i think picture 3 of the Yellow fish is some sort of Hap.

Good luck

DA

It was late last night and i was in a flap taking the pic, so will try to get some more now I am a little more organised.
Thanks becks

will try and upload some more pics.
There are 4 fish which I need help identifying, there are three main ones all seem to have the same colours and patternation, appart from one is predominatly blue and the other two are larger and yellow, with blueish faces. Two of them have been the ones squaring up to each other and "kissing" most of the morning ...
The other is more indescript really is shown in one of the pictures with the blue one as described above if that makes any sense.
1st pic should be indescript fish ?? and the blue one ??
2nd pic should be the blue one on its own
3rd pic should be them squaring up ready for another kiss?? (totally non violent these two together are showing each other no aggresion at all)
4th pic should be the paler of the two yellow ones, who incidently does get chased a little by the yellow male above

I hope someone somewhere understands that lot , I have done my best to try and describe !! ROFLMAO
Becks.

Meant to add they are all between 5 - 7 inches
