Need Help For My Oscar Please!

Hello all!

I discovered that my 8 inch oscar has internal parasites because he is rejecting food and his wastes are kind of weird!
What I did is that I kept him without food for 2 weeks and then started giving him the INTERNAL ANTI-PARASITE medicated food from JUNGLE. but what amazes me is that he is also rejecting it. I wonder why he's not eating it although other fish are. Why?
I also bought another treatment which is a 3 times water tratment for internal and external parasites.
What can I possibly do now after all these procedures?? He looks starving because everytime I approach, he comes closer for food but doesnt want to eat that medicated food.

Tell me what to do guys. I need to get rid of these internal parasites!

Difficult to say really.
If it is internal parasites then there are different treatments to help different things.
If you can... find out the exact problem here

internal parasites do not intentionally kill the host,
after all the host is their food supply.
After all, no food supply. No Parasite ^^

Would it be better to keep him without food for a few more days so that the parasites die?

if you starve the parasite you starve the host so you're likely to lose the oscar
before the creature stops feeding on it.


personaly i'd try to identify the parasite and use appropriate treatment

If he's not eating you need to treat the water with an internal parasite med.
Yes fish can die with internal parasites as they just waste away, and they damage the internal organs, even the brain.

Wormer plus will kill near on everything, you treat the whole tank. kills snails aswell which is a huge bonus

What treatment would that be?

Internal parasites where the fish is not eating are usually protizizoal in nature. Metronidazole, or dimetronidazole is the most used med. If you are in the UK you will have to get this through a vet.
