my ciclids (pelmatochromis kribensis) had babys in my community tank and i dont know what to do and iam afraid to leave them their becaause the bigger fish might eat them and iam afraid to move them because i might kill them with fright please help :/

Hi SHADY...

what other fish do you have in your tank?? and how large is it?
its 34 gallons and i have 4 gouramis 1 bala shark 4 neons 1 shrimp
sliver doller wich is quit big corrys plec platies swordtails black neon

I'm afraid i'm no expert! actually i'm in a similar position....my kribs have just fry but they are in tank by themselves...

anyway... from what i understand...(hopefully someone more knowledgable will be around to help out soon!) the parents are good at taking care of their young and can be quite aggressive towards the other members of your tank... i dont have any experience with the bala shark and shrimp...also the sliver dollar but all these may be cause for concern! also how big is the plec?? everything else i would guess will probably be more concerned about your kribs!!

If you plan to raise the fry then something will probably have to be done... what other tank/s do you have...its best to move the other fish out rather then move the new family... if thats not possible hopeful someone can help you with the best way to move the fry

i have a smaller tank but thats got baby platies in it but i could move the platies into a trap and i could move the new family in but i might need more help what do you think?

i would say thats not a bad idea.... but you really need some more help with how best to move them.... i would say its risky as the parents might not get on smaller surroundings... i've read that krib parents may get aggressive towards each other as well and one might attack the other and eat the fry...in short - a out and out war might happen, i'd maybe think about moving the fry and mother, or maybe just the fry (but i'm not sure how well they look after themselves), does the current situation look bad...are your other fish getting interested in the fry?? if everything looks okay maybe its best just to monitor the situation until someone can give you more definate answers...
