I'm having a hard time convincing that salt is necessary for mollies.

Mollys have been bred and raised in captivity so long that they really don't need the brackish conditions any longer. They aren't kept in salt at the LFS. Salt is frequently used as a medication.

What can I say to that to tell them that it is false, if I'm not mistaken correct? Isn't it like saying betta's have been bred so long in coldwater and unfiltered conditions it's ok to put them in unfiltered and unheated tanks?

Thanks so much I really need help

a way to convince them would be a base ball bat and a bb gun....

Or you could print out various articles etc off the internet and give it to them...has PFK done something about it or anything you could show them to convince them?

Well nmonks gave me permission to copy his article and they are unmoved by it, they think that they are OK without salt and salt is a medication.

Some mollies need some salt. you do not have to but they prefer some. they can also be intoduce to saltwater tanks. this should be done slowly.
