I know, misswiggle, but i have only bumped it once. The third time was to thank maximinimus for reviewing my Website.
But, sorry for the bumping guys if you don't like it.

it just gets on people's nerves a bit, it's still quite early on in the day, can't expect instant action. i know i looked at it though ok, not really in the mood now but will have a look at it on my lunch or later in the day so closed it down, then 5 mins later there's another post saying come on do it now....... not exactly the way to get people to do you favours now is it? :/

I understand where you are coming from and i am sorry. If you see it from my point of view, i posted, then ten minutes later, i saw 5 people watching my thread and though OK... then 5 minutes after that they had gone without a trace.
Sorry misswiggle, it wont happen again. I'm sorry i have annoyed you.

it's ok, didn't mean to sound like i'm having a go or anything, just a bit of friendly advice. :)

i do see your point of view, but you have to remember people are here through their own choice, got to give people a chance to do what they want in their own time or choose th reply/not reply to a topic. :D

Hi,

I hope that my information comes as positive warning then something being negative.

In 2008 it is very hard to make a website for profit.

More often then not if your trying to make an online business work it will fail with the person being out of pocket and out of time.

This is not because your website is bad or your idea isn't good but because in 2008 with everyone having the ability to buy what they want in terms of domains ... The market is just too flooded.

People think millions of people in the world there is room for me.

BUT when people go looking for a website they will find home in an already flourishing website ... People like people.

Things to look for ...

1. How many people are also doing what you are doing? Are we talking hundreds or Millions? (check globally not local)
2. You want an income ... There is very few actual methods of taking money off the web ... cheque is unreasonable and ability for visa, master cards cost ALOT of money.
3. To take Visa and Master Card also involves getting a merchants account in a bank which also costs money and a hefty review. You will have to get a special hosting account that meets the criteria for encryption and security. Now you maybe thinking I know this secret called PayPal ... well it is Illegal in most western countries to take money for gain without a registered business something that governments love to get people with ... the penalty is high and can result in jail beleive it or not although unlikely. It is a persons right to ask you to demonstrate that you are a legal registered business.

This is just to get you started.

In the future you will want to make your website dynamic to expand with the growth of your site. If you aren't very knowledgeable about programming languages and there interaction with databases you will 99% find your database has been hacked because people can't imagine what is possible.

1 last tip if you do go the advertising route ... Use google Adsense this will allow you to target your ads to increase chances of a click BUT this comes with a website audit too although its usually a light one.

Hope this helps.

My Name is Tim and my experience comes from running businesses within the UK and North America.

If you need help I can try and answer any questions you have.

i have to agree with tim if its a website for profit, the only way of doing so at the moment is to make it big with a huge range, dry goods are completely saturated at the moment with many places offering pretty much trade prices and relying on huge volume sales to make their money.

if its just as a hobby/ info site then yeah it is ok, but i would add more pictures, and maybe make them brighter.

Internet browsers have a very short attention span unfortunately

JMHO

well I can't comment on the business aspect of things, i'll leave that to the guys who know what they are doing.

However a few things, there are three species of angel fish, scalare, altum and i think the last one is leopoldi....... to have a website dedicaated entirley to angels with no mention of the other angel species is just laughable to be totally honest with you.

The overall tone and quality of information could also be improved, here's a few examples, from the 'all about angels' page

'angel's don't 'swim' as such, but float. They gracefully move about the middle / top of the tank using mainly their usual caudal and pectoral fins'

ok so angels do swim, i can see what you're getting at but you need to phrase that differently as it's midleading.

'angels are not fussy eaters and will eat more or less anything! Keep tetras away!'

you need to explain why to keep tetras away and also to clarify that it's the smaller tetras like neons which are liable to be eaten, if you put for example, a congo tetra in with an angel...... nothing will happen.

Throughout the website either write out numbers fully like 'Fourteen' or use the number symbols like 14. It's poor grammar to use both throughout a document, really they should be written out fully during passages of text but at the very least you should pick one or other method and stick to it.

there's plenty more..... i just think you need to do some more research and ensure all your information and advice is full and correct.

Never once have i stated that the website is for profit. Thank you for the criticism's, i will take them all into account and use them to make my website better.

AND, bearing in mind this website was started yesterday.

In fact, leave me be miss wiggle, as i think you have been rude. Their is nothing positive in your critique, and i think for some reason, you have some kind of personal vendetta against me. It's not fair to judge a website 'laughable' after its second day. I am open minded and wanted to hear all the nitty gritty to improve my site, but i think you have taken it a bit too far. I wanted my opening page to be informal and chatty to develop a freindship with the reader. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all, in my opinion.

wacky i'm sorry if i've upset or offended you, i've just given my honest opinion as i always do, i certainly don't have any personal vendetta or feel any malice towards you. :flowers:

I'll back off and won't say anymore on the subject.
