HI EVERYONE im a real begginer and i have just bought a 70 litre tank and i am just wondering wot would u say the biggest fish i could put in it

Any chance you could post the dimensions of your tank (length, width, and height)? With all the different shaped aquariums, the dimensions can be more important than the volume of water it holds.

By the volume alone 70 liters is about 18 gallons, so you're not going to be able to have anything too large. It also depend on what kind of fish you like, New World Cichlids, live bearers, tetras, etc. My best suggestion is to go to your LFS and write down all the names of the fish you like, then research them or post them on here and we can help with compatability and what is appropriate for your tank. :good:

Also, do you know anything about cycling? I suggest fishless cycling, I'll post few links I think all beginners should read.

Good advice there-I just want to add some emphasis on RESEARCH. Don't trust what your fish shop employee's say, even if they seem to know what they're talking about. Check here before you buy any fish, alot of LFS staff give very questionable advice.

welcome mate,,,,
have you even set up the tank yet?
would be a good idea to set up properly so that you dont start losing fish to deaths then start to hate the hobby :good:
do it all properly then you should love the hobby and not start to hate it as some many do when they dont go about it properly :good:

as stated reasearch on what type of fish you would like to keep,
cichlids get big unless you go with drawf cichlids but go have a read around 1st then see what you think :good:

thanks nelly no i havnt yet set up my tank however i am just trying to get as much info as i can so i can do everything perfectly
the main thing that is troubling me is the cycles
