Hi all, i have a 20g tank, and i will be the first to say that i havent been happy with my tank, well i had** 55watts in total but i bumped it down to 20watts since i was geting a hell of trouble so i gave up with the high lighting but i love how bright and illuminated the tank was,

Basically my question is how can i make the tank look at illuminated without have 55watts to light up the tank??

right now like i sayd i have 20watts and the tank looks dull, and not fun too look at, if anything it looks sad and depressing to be honest but what do you guys/girl think i should do i impove my lighting since i removed the nice 55watt system i had

as always thanks for any information and advice

like one of those paper background that i put in the back of the tank??

well i was looking for into the light itself, just because my tank look/seems soo dull

Check the light spectrum on your 20W light. A spectrum in the 6500K or higher will look brighter than the same light with a typical 2300K spectrum. A plant light is the worst for looking bright. They are typically in a light band that plants like but plants like light that is almost invisible to people's eyes in the infrared and ultraviolet ends of the spectrum.

wow i just found the box to my light, well it says this

"HG- Lumen:950,Watt:18,H:15000"

they also have a chart at the bottom of the box

Relative Power-WaveLength which i dont know how to read lol but what does all this mean, sorry ohh and i bought the light at Lowes
