Hey so today I turned on the light to feed my fish to find this white looking growth on my bettas tail. I don’t think it’s fin rot. Does anyone know what this could be and what to do? Thanks for your time!

Hi :)
It looks like fungus. Do a 75% water change.

What sized tank?
Does he have any tankmates?
Ammonia,nitrite and nitrate?
how often do you do water changes and how much water do you change each time?

Most often caused by poor water quality. Do a 75% water change every day for two weeks

It looks like fungus. This normally gets into wounds or damaged areas on the fish.

Check the water quality for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH.

Do a 75% water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week or two.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Add 2 heaped tablespoons of rock salt, sea salt, or swimming pool salt for every 20 litres of water. Keep the salt in the tank for 2 weeks.
When you do water changes, add salt to the new water before adding it to the tank so the salinity (salt level) remains constant.

You can also use aquarium salt sold at your local pet store.
