Need Advice On External Fiters

A 450 Juwel Vision is winging its way to me but I;m concerned about the filter. I have 5 messy goldfish so realise that I need to purchase an external filter. I think that I'll keep the juwel internal filter (but may take it out). The aquarium will be in my living room so I don't want a noisy filter humming away in the corner.

I have researched Fluval / Epheim and they both get rave reviews. I'm read about the Fluval G3/6 but don't know if they are really worth the money ... However, I've given myself a generous budget to ensure the fishes are well-looked after as I'm very fond of them.

Has anyone any advice?

Fluval FX5 £165 ish and is suitable for 1000 litre tank i think and can pump over 3000 litres an hour.

Think you will find that the flow rates are given without media, adding the huge wad oof media in that thing will greatly reduce flow. Still agree for the money Fx5 just donr fall for the hype

Or make a sump if you want to go the cheaper route
