Hi i have had my red tail shark for around 1 year most of his life his been in a juwel 60 ( i think thats the tank name ) his been realy happy in there all he dose is hang around his cave long as no one gos in there his happy anyhow around about 2 months ago i moved him into my 4ft tank with other tank mates to see if he will be happy in there ( lot bigger tank ) i put his cave in there aswel and all was going well untill around a few weeks ago when the loaches have tryed to move in on his cave well now its like world war 3 he chases them about alot and i realy dont think his happy in there i would move the cave out ( ive tryed ) but he seems lost without it.

what i would like to know is would it be ok to put him back in the old tank he was in ( he looked alot happier in there ) i know its only a 2ft tank but he did seem better in there with his cave

any help would be great cheers

He's protecting his territory, more caves is the answer.

arh poor thing thats his cave, if someone tried to musscle in on my home i would not be happy either, like wider said just add some more caves or rearrange your tank slightly to give the clowns some more hiding places.

try putting more caves but you should also know that RTBS's are aggressive, How many gallons was the other tank?

Rekord 60 is a 12 gallon tank, I have three panda corys in mine.

so you think i should try more things out in the big tank i have tryed more caves etc.. but he will not give up his and the loaches seem to want his cave lol i know the red tail sharks can be a bit bossy but realy he only starts when they go near this cave anywhere else is fine lol is the other tank to small for him now then? as if it is ok i can put him back in its still set up and ready for fish if not ill just have to try and take that cave out again then put a new one in
