Hi again all! You've always been great help in the past - I have a new problem! I had a few bladders snails come in on a plant, I allowed them to stay and they bred - pretty excessively, I know this is due to overfeeding but feared underfeeding as I have baby cories in my tank at the moment!

Anyway I don't regret this as they demolished my diatom problem, hoping I've got things in balance in the process as even after removing most of the snails I haven't seen a trace of the diatoms back!

Just need a quick and easy way to kill the excess snails as painlessly as possible - I really hate to do it but I have hundreds in a tub and they're likely suffering as it's starting to smell despite water changing. Doesn't seem to be another option as can't find anyone willing to take them, and no room in my tank to stock some snail-eaters. Anyway, advice really appreciated! Please and thanks :)

step on them.
add a heap of copper to the container.
add swimming pool chlorine.
boil them with garlic and sauce.

Assassin snails will clear them up in no time. These snails are a natural food source to them, if you wouldn’t mind adding them in I’d definitely recommend them. These are a little bigger than bladder snails and come with cute striped shells. You’d only need a few, and I’ve never had any breeding problems with them in the past when I’ve put them in my tanks. Snail infestations can be the worst I understand from past experience. Alternatively you can try Colin’s method, this would be an easier way to deal with them if you’re not wanting anymore snails at all. Best of luck.
