the tank is a twenty gallon with an anubias and moneywort

my other question is that i have a 5 gallon tank. if i convince my parents, what can i put there and can i use the water from my cycled tank during the next water change?

lastly ive just have gotten a very slight interest in hybrids, just wonderin, can iyou make any two species have a hybrid? can i "create" anything with what i got?

The stocking list you have up there is fine as long as the cat you have isn't too big I don't recognise the name but everything else is fine.

There's little to no benefit in using water from a cycled tank, it hardly has any beneficial bacteria. If you want to clone the 20 gal you need to use some of the filter media from the 20gal filter in the filter for the 5 gal which will transfer the good bacteria that you need. But 5 gal is very small, you'll be able to keep perhaps a betta, or a few small fish, microrasbora etc or perhaps fancey shrimp. Cherry, Bumblebee etc.

In terms of hybridasation you can only hybrid very close species successfully. From what you have the molly's are the most likely which it is possible to cross with guppies, but I've only seen a couple of examples of people being successful. Egg layers are very difficult to cross, I think cichlids are again the most likely, that's how they came up with the parrot which is a combination of cichlids like the flowerhorn etc.

Your stocking looks fine, make it 6 sterbai.

You can use water from the bigger tank and use in the small but why would you want to?

If I were going to do something with a 5g tank I would plant it up get a small co2 kit and lights then put 15 or so cherry shrimp in there. For fish... a school of 10 lamp eye killifish

Realistically that catfish is too big for the tank.

You should probably remove the striped raphael cat fish. I didnt think they got so big 9.5 inch one site says. They eat crustaceans in the wild so your shrimp will eventually be on the menu.

dont really care about the shrimp, there old and have lived a good life. but i cant get rid of him ( the return date expired.) ! since hes still tiny and ill probably get another tank sooner or later (55) can i put him in there but for now keep him in the twenty? can i still get cories and the rainbows?

i would if i could but i cant so i wont

besidesthats the maximum size. they usually reach 6" max in the aquarium

for a 5 gal you're probably looking at it being either a quarantine tank or having a single betta in there - maybe with a couple of shrimp or maybe some pygmy corys. I emphasise maybe because it depends on 1. the betta's temperament and 2. how big pygmy corys get because I can't remember! lol

personally I'd keep it spare for a QT. But that's just me
