Can someone tell me the Optimal balances for things like GH, KH, PH, C02, and anything else that would be needed for a planted tank. I found several diffrent opions online, but I don't just wanted here it from you experts that I know have the tanks. PLEASE HELP!!!

Will post some Pics as soon as I get them

It's not really as simple as that. What do you want to grow in your tank. Just like fish, plants have particular requirements so there is no magic formula for all plants.

Have a look at the members tanks thread here: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=111385

That should give you some idea of what to aim for...

Give us some details of your setup. What's your water chemistry like at the moment?

I am at work right now so I updated my signature the best i could if it helps at slightest bit.

I have basic plant's all of them you can buy a chain store such as petco or petsplus

3 swords, 3 of something called kulihjo, might haved hacked that name, it's a tall graasy like plant.

My KH is a degree of 9 and my ph bounces between 7 and 7.4

Tempature is at 76

Most plants will do fine in most water conditions.

Sam

temp 78
Ph 7.0-7.2
N02 1.5 ppm
GH 9 degrees
Ammonia 0 ppm
Iron .2 ppm
Carbon 6 ppm

Tank is like 10 days old

Most people aim for 30ppm CO2, this then dictates pH and KH. I igonre GH. (Accurately measuring KH and hence CO2 can be very awkward BTW).

Temperature set to suit the plants, but generally can tolerate a much greater range than fish.

Thanks everyone for the coments, what I don't get is how can my C02 be so low with 2 C02 injectors with laddeer systems. They are both push 1 bubble about every 2-3 secs. I not running any bubblers, and I have little water disturbance from my filter output.

I am upgarding the lights to 2 Aqua-Glo 20w bulbs, open to any other suggestions if anyone has any.

Pics are coming later today as you can see I slowing working my profile up.

1) How are you measuring CO2?
2) Use a diffuser or reactor instead of those crappy ladders. I did (made a reactor) - doubled my CO2...

How are you measuring your CO2? Cross referring KH with pH is very difficult. I could never be sure of the exact colour my test charts were showing me, consequently I could have my CO2 at 10ppm or 80ppm by interpreting the slightly differently. Consider using this method:

What is the capacity of your tank? You will need a rough idea of your WPG.
