Hi there, as above really Ive got a 20L corner tank with cherry barbs and danio's in.

It has never had a heater in since new. I put A thermometer in the other week to check the temps as the weather has changed.

It was about 20 c but recently dropped to 17 c. Im thinking I am needing one now especially with the worries of yet another bad winter.

I know all I would need is a 25w heater. But I have a spare 100w heater lying around. It will physically fit. Apart from the extra electric cost would it be ok to use till I get a 25w heater. Also what is a good heater to buy.

Many thanks for any help

100 will be fine however you take the risk of it breaks and gets stuck on the ON/heat position which is the most common, by the time you notice the tank will have boiled. pays yer moneys take your chnaces :good:

How did you decide on those species in your tank? They've got to be feeling cramped!

So whats a good 25 w heater that wont boil my fish, I have a fluval e100 in my other tank but they dont go down to 25w.
I ended up with them due to petsathome's useless advice. This was before we ended up getting hooked on keeping fish. Im now abit wiser. And they get on fine :good:
