As some will know I have been cycling a Rio 125 and it's nearly ready for fish!

Cichlids of some sort are my plan but know the restrictions due to size. Can't help that now (weight issue)

As I asked before types and quantities are a problem. My LFS don't seem to stock much other than Malawis/Mbunas.

The tank is full of craggy rock so plenty of hidey-holes.

I like the look of Jewel/keyhole etc but have no idea of quantities etc for the little 125 ltr?

Tanganyika have also been suggested or maybe Kribs.

I suppose what I am after is a set menue out lining types and quantities. (Someone suggested a pair of Kribs, what alone that's it?) Or was that a suggestion plus x I :/

Hey, I'm new to this Cichlid malarky :S

If you go with the Kribs, you could have some of the medium sized tetras, as dither fish. They help the Kribs be more active, as they do tend to be hiders.

Ok so, how many Kribs/sexes? If it just means say 3 (male + 2 female) and a bunch of tetra I'm thinking waste of a tank as I already have a community tank that needs stocking up.

This is what I mean when I say 'set menue' I suppose really I'm after someone saying right, try x amount of ****** with a couple of ****** and maybe a ******** or x amount of ***** and so on.

Thank you for your imput (oh and what else other than tetra can be used as dithers?)

i would reccomend the larger active tetras, eg serpae, rosy, black phantoms, etc. i have bentos and they fill the role perfectly
people also recommend less agressive barbs, danios, and some tougher livebearers as good dithers too

what do you have in the way of plants?

Not really going to have plants just maybe a bit of Java Fern on the rocks and a piece of bogwood.

Ok I have to do this as I'm in the USA

125 liters =33 usg

81 x 36 x 50 cm=31"x14"x19"

This could work it's a cookie cutter from here :
• Haplochromis sp. "Ruby Green" - trio
• Metriaclima livingstonii - 5
• Ancistrus temminckii "Bristlenose Pleco" - 2
