Can't anyone tell me if my cycle is near completion ? I does it to 4-5 ppm last Friday, Saturday it was down to .5 with nitrite at 5, I was away during the week but had it does to 4-5 ppm every second day, tested Friday and it was 0.5 nitrite 0.5 and nitrate 20 dosed to 4-5ppm again, tested this morning ammonia was 0.25 nitrite nitrite 0.5 and nitrate 40ppm, so dosed to 4-5 ppm and tested 6 hours later ammonia had dropped to 0.5 is it looking good?

Hopefully next week it will be done :D ill test it very 6 hours now to see, should I do a water change?

Once everything (apart from nitrates) drops to zero in 12 to 24 hours then you are cycled and you should do a 95% water change then. Let the water settle for 24 hours and get all your fish in straight away (this is the way I did it). Your bacteria are grown and fed and ready to dispose of the effluent from fish. Changing such a large amount of water gets rid of the last vestiges of ammonia and all the nitrates which will be very high. Take your water level down to the substrate, obviously you can't rid of it all but most of it should be disposed of.

This morning ammonia was .5 so topped it up, now it's .25 and nitrite stayingat 5ppm, hope it's done soon
