Naso Tang

What is the minimum tank size for a naso tang, and can they be kept with agressive fish?

i'd say about 125 US gallons . they are aggressive to other tangs but not to other fish and id think they could defend themself's with the spine on their tails

I would agree with the 125 being the absolute minimum for the smallest species (Naso literatus, which can reach 18''). They are large and fast fish. They are robust enough to be kept with very aggressive fishes, but gentle enough to be kept with even small Gobies. They also have two pairs of caudal spines, which cannot be tucked into a groove like most Acanthurids, and pose a signifigant danger to the aquarist if they are cornered. They will not attack unless severely provoked; thus, if a Naso attacks someone, the person probably deserved it.

There is one of these in the coral tank at my LFS, absolutely gorgeous, it follows you and wiggles at you like it wants to play! I would love one if we had the room, go for it!

Hes goin in with a humu humu trigger, a niger trigger, a undulated trigger, and a stars and stripes puffer.
