Names Of Plants That Create A Carpet In Substrate

Hey all,
I'm looking for a plant that will just attach to the substrate in my tank and create a sort of carpet, ive heard crypts is a good one? Any others? Also my tank is a sand substrate.

Marsilea hirsuta is a personal favorite of mine. It's a bit of a slow grower, but on the positive side, it's a pretty undemanding plant.
