Name That Fish

I saw a nice fish in my LFS today and my attempts to memorise it's latin name failed. The male was a purplish grey colour with a reddish tail and bright blue eyes while the female was a drab whitish colour. They were for sale in pairs and the male was about 1.5" and the female was 1" Cheers in advance if any of you can help!

No it wasn't as fancy as that, I think the latin name began with L. Sorry I am being so vague!

no idea then mate could be a dwarf gourami? type that in on google images? but apart from that i have no idea sorry.

It's body was a lot slimmer than a Gourami...

Was it a loach or a shark? I've seen some loaches that are a blueish/grayish color with a red tail.

It could have been a Paradise Fish

Mystery solved it was a Nothobranchius spp. a Killifish. My curiosity got the better of me and I went back today to find out!
