I have 2 mystery snails in my 10g - a magenta and an ivory snail. I got them about 2-3 weeks ago. They haven't shown any interest in breeding - when do you think they will? I also have a normal mystery snails over in another tank, could I add him for a week and see if he does anything?

Yes you can add the other snail.

They breed when they want to. I had some in a tank for over a year before they started leaving clusters of eggs on the coverglass. Other people have had them lay eggs a few weeks after they get them. Just look after them and they will breed when they are ready.

I assume the water conditions are what the snails would like to breed in??? I’ve had several in my more alkaline rainbow tank for about a year, pond snails are breeding there, but no mystery activity

You haven't said what gender the two snails are - you're sure they're different sexes?

I have no idea what gender they are. Is there a way to tell??

My water parameters are Ammonia-0, nitrite-0, and nitrate-10, and pH is 7.6.

Yes there is.

This site takes a while to load as it no longer exists and we have to use Wayback Machine to access it. In the menu on the left of the page, select 'anatomy'; that gives the anatomy of a male, and there's a link to female anatomy. There's also a 3D anatomy if your device supports Java.

I found this article informative...

this was the best pictures I found showing the difference between males & females

I think I may have accidentally bred mine, haven't added any plants for about 5 weeks but over the past few days have been noticing little snails everywhere that I thought were pest snails but when I've googled them I think they're actually mystery snails.... but I don't actually want babies! @BettaFishGirl I'll tell my bunch to stop doing whatever it is they're doing and send the breeding vibes your way!
