I had thought all of the ghost shrimp had died, but today I noticed a single one crawling along the front of the tank glass.
It looked weird though and I'm wondering if it was a ghost shrimp that changed colors?
I wasn't sure since I really don't know if they can or not.

It had either dark blue or black splotches all over it, and a red horizontal "line" near the base of its antenna... like imagine if someone had taken a paint brush w/ red paint on it, and painted a line across them.

I would've tryed getting a pic, but the tank is a bit on the dirty side, green water and algae all over the glass :p heh

So yeah.... think it was just a ghost shrimp? What would cause it to change color like that?

If it wasn't a ghost shrimp, could it have been a red nose shrimp? From my very basic shrimp knowledge I know this has got a red stripe down it (though not sure about the spots).

I don't think it was that.
I think it was just a ghost shrimp. Read either here or somewhere else that they can develop black spots, specially after they eat frozen bloodworm.

So yeah, pretty sure it's just a ghost shrimp :D Thank you though!
