Sad to report my recently purchased dwarf cichlid has passed away today

I am a bit concerned and perplexed as to how though. This morning he ate his food, and seemed happy - I have just gone to feed them again and noticed him lying in the sand. Firstly, my ammonia and nitrite levels are both 0, PH is a consistent 8 as it always is (is this the issue?), temp is 24c, all of my other fish seem fine and I ran my usual weekly 20% water change yesterday obviously using dechlorinator/temp matching water. I bought the fish on Friday last week, so he has sadly only survived 3 days. Other stock include cory and celestial pearl danios so he wouldn't have been attacked. There is no visible sign of disease/trauma either. Any help appreciated as I am stuck as to why this has sadly happened. I believe oxygen levels are okay, there certainly isn't any film residue on the surface, and I've set the filter venture quite high so there is plenty of surface agitation. The tanks about 6 weeks old, but the filter was in my previous set up and is many months old.

Sorry for your loss, and this probably won't be any help, but sometimes living creatures just die, for no apparent reason. Sounds like you did all you could to give him a good home.

I bought some blue tetra last week, and they were all fine, water fine etc. The other day I fed them as usual, and they were all feeding well, but within a minute or so of feeding one was just dead. No idea why :(
