Got this tank a few days ago and it came with a common pleco which I traded to get a BN (in my 14 for right now). This tank was a huge mess and I cleaned it from top to bottom. Well $30 for the tank, pleco, stand, decor, and accessories is a really great deal.

It doesn't have much in it right now, cause I am still cycling. Have 4 of my guppies in there just today. Yes I know some of you are gunna chew my head off because I didn't cycle all the way. Well when I cleaned the 14gal I put that water into the newer tank and put the new filter in the 14gal while i was cleaning the bigger tank. So I have at least some of the old bacteria in the new tank. I also am doing a 20-30% water change a day and checking my water 2 times a day. I have done this many times when getting a new tank and never lost a fish. Also I only put a couple of fish in after day 3.

It looks brown cause I think it's because the back of the tank is painted silver and also cause the lighting. I stole the hood from my 14 because this one didn't have one.

^^ Agreed.
However if you squeeze some of the filter gunk from a mature filter pad onto the new filter pads. This should seed it, speeding up the cycle.
Or even better, tranfer a bit of the filter media from the 14gal and into the new tank and new filter.

Oh i did, but thanks for the advice =)
Doing great today!

You have done the same thing i did...

when i cleaned out my mature tank i used about 3/4 of that water in my new tank and put 1/4 of fresh water in. i also used some old filter media and some live plants from another tank. i added my betta and zebra danios the next day.. they are still alive and kicking :D

nice guppies!! Do you no wether you can keep 1 male guppy in a community tank with no other guppies??

thankz, Immie

it looks a wierd shape but it is because i took it at a strange angle. 40 litre

lol thanks. Just added my 2 live plants today. Hoping to put some of the small fry in tommorrow if my lvls stay the way they are. Hopefully by the end of the week, I could put my otos and Pleco in (well feeding them tabs and zucchini to make up for food).

Those are only 4 of total 15 guppies I have. Most are fry and 7 are adults.

I have had a guppy female by herself for 6 months with 2 platys before and they did fine, so a male with a community by himself should do fine too. Also the female with the yellow tail I got from a lady that had her by herself a whole year.

Oh also very nice setup...clean and love the plants! =)
