I water changed and refilled three tanks, including the new 45 gallon in less time (and with less mess), than it used to take me to do one with a bucket, sucking and dribbling. I just hooked up the 25 ft python to my sink and emptied the desired amounts out of each tank, cleaning gravel at the same time. Then added my chlorine remover, and refilled all three! I am thinking when I get a hospital tank re-set up, is it safe to use the same python? Should I keep the bucket routine with that one if I have a sick fish in it, so not to cross contaminate? WOW!!!

PS My family thinks I get waaaaaaaay to excited over these things. I tried to talk my husband into bidding on a 125 gallon today on ebay.... My 17 yr old son says if I don't stop they will start calling me the fish lady. My 27 yr old daughter say I am getting just a little obsessed! My husband is worried about the checkbook....lol. But I am just having a ball!

Hey, If your having fun....whats the harm eh? Lol.

Im thinkin you mean a hose when you say python, lol, but im australian.....hehehe :)

I was thinkin bout doin the same thing, instead of walking back and forth to the garden from my tank, i was gonna buy tubbing to run out the window! :D
But mum thought that was a bit much for now..... :p

Sounds like its workin good for you though!

PS: I get fish-boy from al my mates, so fish-mum aint bad!

Pythons are awesome  I did have a bad experience with mine though :( It was the first day that I had it and I was so excited and apparently got a little too enthuiastic and removed 70% out of my 150  It worked great, I cleaned the gravel and the water went straight down the drain. Then I switch the flow and it blows off the sink  So I kept putting it back and everytime the water would start off it went. My husband even tried to duct tape it back on but to no avail.

To make matters worse my 5 gal bucket had just been involved in an unfortunate mopping accident and had to be retired from the fish hobby so all I had was a 2.5gal and trust me, filling that sucker back up was tons of fun :X

Glad you like yours they really are a great invention :)

Yes, but lugging all those buckets is great exercise! I've lost 2 dress sizes since I got my 55 gallon and 75 gallon tanks!
This is an excellent point though. I really, really don't mind lugging buckets at all. I kinda love it. I use three 5 gallon buckets and it takes a lot of lifting to do all of my tanks, I've always rebelled against the python :p

But,a friend of mine bought me one a few days ago. She brought her hoses over and everything and I've yet to try it out. I'm skeered :*)
