recently moved them from a small ten gallon breaking down with few hiding spaces
to a large 20 gallon loots of place to hide and much cleaner so they should be come less toritorial with more room but they dont seem realy hurt but there is about one catfish that like to wedg him self inside a hole on the bottom of a artifical plastic cave the hol is made to let water in. there are uslualy two or three other catfish trying to get in there some times the gaurding on dosent mind or dosent notice but if he sees them hell chase them away. just wander if its because they need to adjust or need more or less school mebers he dosent bother the corys thoe

seems to me catfish fanatic doesnt have ery good english. let me translate for u :D

I recently moved my fish from a small ten gallon with a few hididng spaces to a large 20 gallon with plenty of places to hide so the fish would be less territorial.

they dont seem to mind but there is one (upside down) catfish who wedges himself inside a hole on the bottom of an artificial plastic cave. the hole is made to let water in.

there are usually 2 or 3 fish trying to get in there. sometimes the "guradian" doesnt mind or notice but if he sees them he'll chase them away.

i just wonder if its because they need to adjust or need more or less fish in the school, he doesnt bother my cories though

USD are normally very shy and this is normal behavior, i didnt really see mine all that often to tell you the truth. Until last month i had three of them, from 1.5 inch to 3 inches long. They mostly hid under some wood and were kept with a variety of catfish, oddballs and cichlids. Initially i believed that they hid from the other fish for safety, and i decided that if i added more of them they would feel secure. So off i went to my lfs and bought two more and added them to the tank. I now find that if they can remain in sight of one another, they will venture out to the surface of the fish tank! This is a surprise because i keep two garfish in there who dont bother them one bit, considering i thought they initiall hid away from the other more predatory fish!

Try adding a couple more, remember threes company but mores allowed!

that worked in the ten gallon but i dont think 5 upside downs are enough for a bigger tank i gusse they go by the more freinds per gallon rulr :D
