Here is a pic of my poor uaru recovering from his attack :-( , he is in a bad way but hopefully with a bit of TLC he can pull round

And here is a pic of my latest tank, altough all fish have now been removed as i have put the beaten up uaru in there to recover. It was meant for by breeding severums but there gonna have to wait :D

Nice fish! Thos Uaru are beatiful. Do you know of a magazine called "Practical fishKeeping" ?? They had an article all about those batiful fish. Aparently they are pretty hard to come by.

Another Uaru keeper on this forum :p Yours look beautiful, how big are they?, I have a 5" one ATM :p

How are the severum and Geo with your Uarus? I'll be moving my Uaru in with a gold sev and surinam geo soon :)

Those are some great looking fish! I like the way you put the black river stones around the plants...they go great with the sand. Nice work.

Thanks for the kind replies

Dwarfs - They are pushing nearly 7", i have had then since they were babies. With regards to the Severums & the geo, the uarus are the bosses of the tank, come feeding time they will attack any fish near them. Apart from this they are very mild mannered fish.

Thanks

Chris

AS far as i am aware he is a Geophagus Jurupari :D
Satenoperca jurupari, scientific name change :p

I guess Uarus aren't as peaceful and timid as I thought, I'll let you know how the move goes :)

No no they are timid, they will not attack any fish neither you severum or your geo will be in any harm but if they attack your uaru they will know all about it (dont know why mine has attacked its brother, maybe he just doesnt like the look of him? lol). Out of all the fish i have ever kept the uarus are the most owner responsive, always comes to the side of the tank you are on and doing a little dance etc

 I know that dance :p I know Uarus are quite timid but mine has never attacked another fish, he won't be able to bother the sev because the severum is a 7" male, and king of his tank, but the Geo isn't too aggressive :)

Yeh i agree with dwarfs, i keep my uarus in an 80G, i got these fish only a year and a half ago and they have went from 1" to 7", they should get upto around 8 or 9 tough they have been caught in the wild at 12"
