Tank size:29 gallon
pH:7.4
ammonia:0
nitrite:0
nitrate:25

Inhabitants: 6 tiger barbs, 3 sterbai cory, 2 mollys, 2 otto cats.

tank temp: about 82

So i come home and i notice my two playful mollys are not out and about. I look and i see there both at the bottom of the tank. I was so mad, these were my first fish right after my tank cycled. So as im going to pick up the bodies i notice one is still slightly breathing i go to pick it up and he tries to swim away. What alarmed me was that he was doing barrel rolls as he was swimming, he could not swim straight. He would spin and spin and then rest and try to continue. I gave him a while but he died to. What worries me is why was he spinning around like that. Could it go to my other fish?please someone help me

Did the fish look bloated, a fish can spin when it dying.
How long is it since the tank had cycled.
R.I.P.

i got the tank in november and it cycles in about 6 and a half weeks and its way over filtered. No they didnt look too bloated or anything like that.

So sorry to hear about the loss.

There may have been some type of poisoning. What were/are your water stats?

there posted in the begining.

Quick Question: Could plant fertilizers have affected my fish?

I asked george farmer about the fertilizers and he said it will nearly take all the bottle to kill them.

Thanks for finding out for me i really appreciate it.

Could it be the fact mollys are brackish?
